His career spans a diverse range of projects within the built environment, including new-build developments, refurbishments, and maintenance works across residential, retail, transport, healthcare, education, and civic sectors. His experience includes complex high-rise and stadium projects, as well as several landmark developments such as the Manchester Civil Justice Centre, Manchester Arndale Centre, and Wembley Stadium.
Among his notable achievements is leading the engineering team on Manchester New Square, a residential development involving the complex repurposing of an existing four-storey-deep basement. This project earned Mike and his team a prestigious North West Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE) Award. More recently, he led the team behind the restoration and redevelopment of the historic Pump House at Luneside, a project recognised with the North West IStructE Sustainability Award.
